Recidivism Prevention Information

 The Ministry of Justice conducts public-relations and awareness-raising activities on “measures to prevent recidivism” using various methods and media.
 We hope that the general public will have interest in and understand “recidivism prevention” through partnerships with various media in line with the purpose of “recidivism prevention”.

Movie “The Miracles of the Namiya General Store”
  The partnership between recidivism prevention and The Miracles of the Namiya General Store materialized with the slogan, “a chance for recovery with your words”.
“The Miracles of the Namiya General Store” is a novel by Keigo Higashino and is a bestseller with over 5 million copies sold worldwide and is said to be his most influential work, bringing out strong emotions at the end of its well-developed story, and it was made into a movie featuring a star cast.
The posters and leaflets produced through the partnership will be distributed and posted around the country with the cooperation of relevant ministries and agencies.
The movie was released on September 23, 2017 and watched by many people.

We hope that this movie will raise awareness of “recidivism prevention”.

 With the cooperation of many professional baseball stadiums and baseball teams, the recidivism prevention PR video “How I Recovered from Delinquency (short version)" was broadcast on the jumbotron of the stadiums. From the end of August to the end of the season, it was broadcast before and after games, and was viewed by many people.
