The exchange of a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) between the Ministry of Justice of Japan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan

  The Ministry of Justice promotes strategic cooperation with foreign countries in the field of law and justice as one of the pillars of “justice affairs diplomacy”, and as a tool, signs memorandums of cooperation (MOC) on comprehensive cooperation with the ministries or departments of justice in partner countries.
 On March 13th, 2019, an MOC was exchanged with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Justice of Japan when Istamov Makhmud, the First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited Japan.

 The Ministry of Justice of Japan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan will promote cooperation and mutual support in a wide range of fields of legal and justice affairs between the two countries through mutual cooperation activities and the exchange of knowledge.

　Since 2001, the Ministry of Justice of Japan has cooperated with the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of legal and justice affairs, especially bankruptcy law and business law. Recently the Ministry of Justice of Japan engaged in support in the field of administrative law with the cooperation of Nagoya University. In the future, we intend to deepen friendly relationships while exchanging views based on these achievements.
