Japan and Singapore exchange Memorandum of Cooperation
The Ministry of Justice of Japan exchanged a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) with the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Singapore in the field of law and justice affairs, including international commercial dispute resolution.
The Ministry of Justice promotes strategic cooperation with foreign countries in the field of law and justice as one of the pillars of “Justice Affairs Diplomacy” (shiho-gaiko), and, as a tool to facilitate close cooperation, signs MOCs with ministries or departments of justice in partner countries. On July 29, 2021, a MOC was signed by and exchanged between H.E. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister of Justice of Japan, and H.E. Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Second Minister for Law of the Republic of Singapore. The MOC will strengthen cooperation in the field of law and justice affairs, including international commercial dispute resolution.
