Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Justice’s Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Singapore
Mr. FUKUYAMA Mamoru, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Justice of Japan, visited the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Singapore from 24 August to 28 August 2026.
The details are as follows:
During the visit to Thailand, Parliamentary Vice-Minister FUKUYAMA met with Pol.Lt.Gen. Saiphet Srisang, Advisor to the Minister of Justice of Thailand, and exchanged views on measures to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of Thailand and the Ministry of Justice of Japan.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister FUKUYAMA visited the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC), the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), the Electronic Monitoring Control Center (EMCC), and the Bangkok Remand Prison.
During the visit to Singapore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister FUKUYAMA met with Mr. Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Law of Singapore, and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Law of Singapore and the Ministry of Justice of Japan.
Additionally, in Singapore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister FUKUYAMA participated in international mediation events (an event co-hosted by the Ministry of Justice of Japan and the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, as well as an event co-hosted by the Ministry of Law of Singapore and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL)) and emphasized the important role that international arbitration and mediation play in resolving disputes in international commercial transactions.
Moreover, Parliamentary Vice-Minister FUKUYAMA visited the Japanese Cemetery Park in Singapore and laid flowers.
