Justice Minister Participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Russian Elites, Proxies, and Oligarchs multilateral task force (March 16, 2022)
On 16 March 2022, Minister Furukawa participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Russian Elites, Proxies, and Oligarchs multilateral task force (online).
In response to Russian unprovoked military invasion of Ukraine, this Task Force was established by the initiative of the United States government for ensuring effective implementation of financial sanctions and amplifying the impact.
Finance, Justice, Home and Trade Ministers and Commissioner of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the European Commission participated in the meeting, and recognized the importance to strengthen cooperation and swiftly implement the sanctions as well as investigate and prosecute illegal acts.
