State Minister of Justice’s Visit to Malaysia and Lao People’s Democratic Republic
State Minister of Justice TSUSHIMA Jun visited Malaysia and Lao People’s Democratic Republic （Lao PDR）for 6 days, July 24 – 29, 2022.
In Malaysia, State Minister Tsushima met with H.E. Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Parliament and Law and H.E. YBhg Tan Sri Idrus Harun, Attorney-General of Malaysia respectively.
In addition, in Lao PDR, State Minister Tsushima met with H.E. Mr. Phayvy Siboualipha, Minister of Justice, H.E. Dr. Viengthong Siphanedone, President of the People’s Supreme Court, and H.E. Mr. Xaysana Khotphouthone, General Supreme Prosecutor respectively.
State Minister Tsushima officially requested the key government officials of Malaysia and Lao PDR to provide support for the Japan-ASEAN Special Meeting for Justice Ministers for July, 2023, which will mark 50 years since the Japan-ASEAN friendship and cooperation started. Moreover, State Minister Tsushima consulted with them about the effective ways to activate international arbitration between Japan and their respective states and to provide legal technical assistance to their respective governments.

In addition, in Lao PDR, State Minister Tsushima visited the Northern Institute of Justice, and State Minister Tsushima and H.E. Mr. Phongsaysack Inthalath, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare signed the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on Specified Skilled Worker Program, in the presence of H.E. Mrs. Baykham Khattiya, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare.
