Japan and Viet Nam Exchange Memorandum of Cooperation

　The Ministry of Justice promotes strategic cooperation with foreign countries in the field of law and justice as one of the pillars of “justice affairs diplomacy”, and as a tool, signs memorandums of cooperation (MOC) on comprehensive cooperation with the ministries or departments of justice in partner countries.
　On October 19, 2020, in Hanoi, Viet Nam, a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) was exchanged between H.E. YAMADA Takio, Ambassador of Japan to Viet Nam, and H.E. Le Thanh Long, Minister of Justice of Viet Nam, witnessed by H.E. SUGA Yoshihide, Prime Minister of Japan, and H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
　Since 1994, the Ministry of Justice of Japan has developed a cooperative relationship with the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam, for example, through providing legal technical assistance and developing human resources. The MOC will strengthen this relationship in the field of legal and justice affairs.

・Training and capacity-building for legal and judicial officials
・Effective information management for the development of legal and justice affairs
