Reference Materials on the Criminal Justice System of Japan

This page contains links to English-language materials on the criminal justice system of Japan. These materials have been posted on the website of the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI), and they have been used as training materials by UNAFEI.
 
UNAFEI is a regional training institute of the United Nations, established in 1962 based on an agreement between the United Nations and the Government of Japan. Throughout the year, UNAFEI conducts international training courses and seminars for criminal justice professionals from around the world. Materials produced by lecturers and trainees (academics, criminal justice practitioners, etc.) are compiled as “resource materials” and etc., are posted on the UNAFEI website.
