Participants residing outside of Japan are eligible for all or part of their travel and accommodation expenses being covered by the Ministry of Justice of Japan. 
For participants residing in Japan, the Ministry of Justice of Japan may bear all or part of the costs of travel and accommodation expenses, but  we may not be able to cover the expenses of all participants, such as those residing near the venue in the Greater Tokyo Area.

If you are interested in participating in the Central Asia plus Japan Special Youth Forum, please apply by 11 September 2026, 11:59 p.m. (Tokyo time GMT+9).
Kindly note that  participants will be selected through a screening process and participation is not determined on a first-come, first-served basis.
Upon careful examination, applicants will receive an e-mail from the Secretariat by the end of October confirming whether they have been selected to participate.
 
[Requirements]
・Youths around the ages of 18 to 30 as of 17 December 2026.
・Those who can participate in discussions using English (no interpretation service will be provided).
・Applicants must be nationals of Japan or one of the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan) and residing in these countries.
・Youths who can attend all programmes at the forum in person.
※There are no specific requirements regarding occupation or major.

・ASEAN-Japan Special Youth Forum for Promoting the Rule of Law
Around 60 young people from ASEAN member states and Japan participated in the ASEAN-Japan Special Youth Forum in 2023. The recommendations compiled as a result of their discussions were submitted to the ASEAN-Japan Special Meeting of Justice Ministers (AJSMJ), which was held at the same time.
