Confirming the Safety of the Earthquake Victims

In order to confirm the safety of foreign nationals, who may have fallen victim to the Tohoku Region Pacific Coast Earthquake, we will be responding to inquiries relating to confirmation of the fact of whether or not the foreign nationals have left Japan. For more information, PLEASE CLICK HERE !

Immigration Procedures

 Immigration procedures can also be handled at the nearest immigration office to your evacuation site.

   Opening times, Locations, Telephone Numbers etc. of Regional Immigration Offices  

Consultation Service Relating to the Earthquake

The consultation service is available at regional immigration offices or immigration information centers.

   Immigration Information Centers  (E-mail service is available)

Extension of the Period of Stay

To the International Students who Returned Home owing to the Occurrence of the Earthquake

  You will be eligible to acquire a new visa in as short a time as possible.
  ※This special measure has been terminated on August 31, 2011.

To the Foreign Nationals for whom the Valid Period of the Certificate of Eligibility Has Elapsed

To the Foreign Trainees and Technical Interns who Returned Home owing to the Occurrence of the Earthquake
