Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Murata) is an electronic components manufacturer in Kyoto. “Murata Cheerleaders” are the world’s first team of robot cheerleaders, created by Murata. They get around balanced on a ball. Their key features are stabilization, which keeps them upright, and synchronization, which keeps them from colliding.
Murata cheerleaders have been appointed by Kyoto Prefecture as “Ambassadors for Supporting Culture and Tourism in Kyoto.” Special “Ambassador” robots dressed in Kyoto traditional crafts will also appear on stage at the Kyoto Congress.

Another pair of Murata’s robots, MURATA BOY and MURATA GIRL, will also welcome you on the stage. MURATA BOY is a robot that can ride a bicycle super-slow, and actually stands upright even when he comes to a complete stop. MURATA GIRL is a unicycle-riding robot with an excellent sense of balance.
