What is child support?

To begin with, divorcing parents should talk with each other in good faith. They should make specific decisions regarding the amount of child support, the period of payment, the timing of payment, and the payment method, such as the remittee's bank account, so that the payment is made smoothly. To avoid conflict at a later date, this agreement should be written, not in the form of an oral promise. The model agreement form prepared by the Ministry of Justice may be helpful.
