He was the assistant stationmaster of Kasumigaseki Station, and was injured by the sarin when cleaning up the sarin-filled plastic bags from the train cars and passed away.

On July 6, 2018, all television screens switched to the special news bulletin. It was the execution of Shoko Asahara and the others. I was rather cool. Because I was supposed to have an interview when they were executed, I started preparing for it.
For me, nothing impacted me more than the “death” of my husband. They were people I had never known to begin with. I could not easily understand them even if I listened to the trial, and I never met or talked to them.
Murder and the death sentence are not the same thing, even if they both “end a life”. The "death" of my husband who was deprived of his right to live and their "deaths" to atone for their sins.
Five months have passed since the other executions on July 26. Now I cannot be as calm as I was at that time. It may not always be the intention of the person to have things published after their execution, but by reading personal things about them from books published one after another, I can sometimes shed tears as they are stories of an individual’s life.
I often hear, "this will not be the end of the Aum attacks," but I cannot see what to do about that. I also do not think that their "deaths” of atonement should be wasted.
