He was the assistant stationmaster of Kasumigaseki Station, and was injured by the sarin when cleaning up the sarin-filled plastic bags from the train cars and passed away.
Ms. TAKAHASHI Shizue, acting as a representative for the “Tokyo Subway Sarin Incident Victims' Association” organized by the victims of the attacks and their bereaved, is conducting relief activities for the victims.
Ms. TAKAHASHI Shizue
My husband was an assistant station manager at Kasumigaseki Subway Station in Tokyo and he was dead while taking out the paper package of Sarin from the train in March 1995. As a result, no passengers died on that route, but the impact of his death was so serious to me, I would have been crushed if I had been alone. However, the documentary drama of my family broadcasted on the day of 15 years after the Sarin Attacks, but when I saw the script, I realized the words of the narration were written there, “She dissolved in tears as a bereaved family right after the Sarin Attacks, but since then she has been facing with the Sarin Attacks as a human being Shizue Takahashi.”
I have still maintained “anger” toward Aum Shinrikyo that caused the incidents as well as its members who have still continued their activities of Aum’s doctrine. The reason for this is that I have strongly felt the determination of our defense counsel teams of the victims that they would take over the wish of Lawyer Tsutsumi Sakamoto. He took a leadership role in criticizing Aum Shinrikyo. But in November 1989, he was killed by Aum Shinrikyo in his home in Yokohama when he was preparing to file a lawsuit against Aum Shinrikyo in order to get back the children who blindly believe Aum Shinrikyo.
Now, turning to my husband, I wonder what his former colleague think about him.
Sometime ago, when the equinoctial week was approaching, I cleaned the grave of my husband and noticed a gentleman silently coming up to me. If I had not been there, he must have visited the grave without being noticed by anyone. The gentleman gave me his name card and I appreciated his thoughtfulness. After that, I knew that he assumed the President of Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd.
I thought that no one has forgotten the death of my husband, the impact of Tokyo Subway Sarin Attacks and disquieting moves of Aum Shinrikyo followers.
